Angela Betts
As a trained mentor for People with Lived Experience (PWLE) I am able to provide education which provides a focus on people with lived experience of mental illness or addiction helping each other learn skills to live well, manage their health, and achieve personal recovery. Peer support services are an essential part of the full spectrum of mental health services available and has been shown to compliment traditional clinical care. There is a range of peer support, from informal to structured service embedded in a clinical setting.
Peers inspire hope and demonstrate the possibility of recovery and I am skilled in providing mentorship and professional support around the concept of recovery focused models of engagement and empowerment.
